INDONESIA - The Indonesian Air Force sent 6 F-16 fighter planes _fighting falcon_ to participate in the joint exercise "Pitch Black 22", at RAAF Base Tindal, NT, Australia. Dozens of personnel consisting of Kolat, pilots, and ground crew have departed from Iswahjudi Magetan Airport to Darwin, with the route Iwj – Eli – Darwin, on Thursday night (18/08/2022).

The F-16 aircraft had departed from the Air Squadron 3, Iswahjudi Air Base, Magetan, while the F-16 BM Falcon Star eMLU from the Air Squadron 3 had taken off first. The pilots consisted of a combined 3rd Air Squadron and 16th Air Squadron pilot.
“Pitch Black 22”, is a biennial air war exercise organized by the Australian Air Force (RAAF), at RAAF Base Tindal, NT, Australia.
The exercise is attended by the Air Forces of 13 countries, and will take place from August 20 to September 8, 2022. This exercise aims to train the combat capabilities of pilots, in carrying out * Offensive Counter Air * (OCA) and * Defensive Counter Air * (DCA).
The 13 participating countries are Australia, the United States, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, India, South Korea, France, New Celedonia, England, Germany, New Zealand and Canada.(***)
